Stir Fry

Today I made stir fry vegetables with Lundgerg Family grown long grain brown rice. It is so delicious. Sauteed broccoli, bell pepper, onion, seasoned with red chili pepper and cilantro in olive oil worked well.

Celery Soup!

I was pleased with the way the Celery Soup turned out today. It was neither too creamy nor too watery.
I sauteed finely chopped celery (2 cups), white onion (1/2 cup), few leaves of fresh oregano, parsley, few flakes of red chilli pepper, and 4 table spoons of dill in olive oil for a few minutes. I added 1 cup of unsweetened Edensoy soy milk and let it boil for a few minutes. I let the entire mixture cool and blended it with a little water. I added sea salt and garnished it with dill. My family enjoyed it with crackers and Rye Bread Avocado Sandwiches.
I would love to cook this for you!

Nectar from the Gods!

My mother made 'Hayagriva' recently for my brother and sister in law's 25th wedding anniversary. I felt the Gods descended from the heavens and offered this dish. It took her hours to prepare and she makes it the best. I wish I could eat it to my heart's content. It had all the good and the 'not so good' ingredients including lentils, milk, ghee or clarified butter, brown sugar, nuts, dry fruits, saffron, cloves, nutmeg, and more....

My mother's tasty Thenkol!

My mother before going in for surgery yesterday, made this delicious Thenkol, a crunchy south Indian delicacy. She is recovering well fortunately.

She is one of the best chefs I know. Unfortunately she cannot eat all these dishes anymore, but once in a while she makes these for her family members.

Look at that color and texture! This tastes great with south Indian coffee....

Violin, my favourite instrument

Rajkumar Bharathi composed a beautiful piece and Embar Kannan played violin with such flair giving feeling to each note. His bowing technique, speed, clarity... all too mesmerizing!
It was Raga - Nasikabhushani!!!

Back to motherland!

I have been locked up in recording studios from 9 - 9 each day. I find this to be such a consummate experience to be surrounded by uncompromising talent and divine music!
I am thankful for this opportunity each year. However we all missed RKB. In eighteen years of making music for dance, this is the first time Bharathi was not able to join us.

I am comfortable here. Bangalore is just the place to be with so much happening. I am yet to explore all that and more....
